Love Bites
That's the phrase that comes with this fabulous stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie called Fred and Ginger. Although you would probably assume that this is a Hallowe'en card (and a fine one it would make), it's actually a birthday card for my friend. She's really into "goth" stuff and I knew she'd appreciate the vampire. What's funny about this card is all the paper I used was given to me by her. I don't own a single sheet of Hallowe'en paper...That's hard to believe...I'll have to remedy that. Anyway, there's lots of glitz and sparkle, but sadly, it doesn't show up too much in this picture. The bats on the BG paper have shiney red eyes too...spooky...Have a happy and safe Hallowe'en!

Flower Garden
Hi everyone! I did this card for my Mother's birthday which is on Friday. I actually got it in the mail really early and she's had it for about a 3 weeks already. I've just finally uploaded it onto the computer...sad how long that took...lol. I used Flower Garden from Stamping Bella for this card. It was my first time using it. I tried something different with this card too, I used the Faber Castell Gelatos to colour them. It's kind of like watercolouring. They have a great texture. Again, I wish my photography skills were better, becaue honestly, this card looked much better in person. The colours seem a little "off" in the picture. Anyhow, enjoy!

Uptown Sushi Girls Chelsea and Lauren
Aren't they awesome eating thier little sushi? I made this card for my friend that's leaving me for the next 3 months (sad face) to go to Florida. The sentiment sort of worked for the occassion, "Miso" want to see you", but I added "when you get back" to the inside...I really wish I had mad photographic skills because my pictures really don't do the colours any justice. There's lots of shimmer and sparkle and it's barely noticeable...Anyway, the stamp is a newer one from Stamping Bella and the papers are Circa 1928 from Cosmo Cricket...Enjoy!

Spencer the Bookworm
Hi Stampy friends. It's been a while hasn't it? I had packed up all my stampy stuff for a while (I don't have a room to leave it set up in) and just got into it again today. In honour of National Card Making Day and the fact that I need about 4 cards this month for various occassions.
May I present Spencer the Bookworm. He's from Stamping Bella and I made him for my nephew's birthday coming up very soon...

A boy in a Bucket?
I bought this little Green Bean Baby ages ago from Stamping Bella. His name is Charlie. I wanted to make the SFYTT for June before June was done.I've lost my stamping mojo a little lately...Anyway, I thought it was the perfect image for the layout and off I went!
Charlie is coloured mostly with my Prismacolour Pencils, but I did his skin with the 2 Copics that I own...I want more.
The paper is one that I've had forever from Basic Grey. I've always liked it, but never had just the right image. Well, this one couldn't be more perfect. I've used various Spellbinders dies and the Distressed Stripes embossing folder.
This was made for my cute little blond nephew for his birthday.
Have a great day!

Totally not stamp related...
unless you can call stamping my feet in excitement related to this blog. I'm going to see Robert Pattinson today!!!
I'm working on the set of "Cosmopolis" today. I can't wait to see him! They are not allowing us to bring any cell phones on set, but I'll do my best to get pics (without getting fired :))
More to follow...

Teacher cards
So, I don't have any kids. When I placed an order once with MFT, I recieved a free set that I can't find on the site right now :) for teachers. My sister however has 2 boys that needed some cards for thier teachers for the end of the school year. Yay, I get to use the stamps! The design is the same for all three cards, just using different papers and embellishments. I used Stella and Rose Hazel for one card and the other two were Fine and Dandy Tickeled Pink and True Blue all from MME. Enjoy!

Bright Swingin' Mavis
Hi folks, this is going to be a quick post, I have to hit the road to go to my Mom's house for a yard sale tomorrow morning...
This is of course as the title suggests Swingin' Mavis from Stamping Bella. I've used some the Stella and Rose paper from MME along with some ribbon, flowers and brads from my stash. Sadly, this card was made for a friend who's kitty passed away over the weekend...such a hard thing to go through...
Have a wonderful weekend and I hope the sun is shining wherever you are!

I wonder if she's reading Twilight?
She sure looks engrossed in that book! This is Lucy...she's from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and another one of my purchases from Scrapfest...my that was a fun day! I did this card for this weeks challenge at KK. The challenge was to use kraft cs. I've never been one to use too much kraft paper until recently and I love it. You can do anything with it! I paired the cs with PP from Emma's Shoppe collection from Paper Crate which I also used to paper piece a little with. I used some ribbon from Michael's and punched out some flowers with my flower trio die-namics from MFT. The buttons are from my stash. I added some golden highlights to Lucy's hair with my buttermilk Spica pen although they're not really noticeable in the picture. Weird that I even did her as a blond, I rarely do that...Anyhoo...lol
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Paisley Pixie
Welcome back! Today's card features Paisley Pixie from Stamping Bella's most recent release. Isn't she cute! My photos unfortunately never do the colours of the cards any justice, this one is so bright and pretty IRL. I used the Stella and Rose Hattie papers from MME and the CS is Tempting Turquoise and More Mustard from Stampin'Up! The crochet lace is something I picked up at a fabric store close to home and the little rhinestones are from Dollarama.
Well, I'm off to collapse on the couch now. I have my first head cold in a long while and feel less than great...
Come back soon!

Miss you a latte
This card was done for a challenge at MFT- Denim and Bling! I used my Miss You a Latte a la mode stamp from MFT ;) and some pp from the Citrus Stack from DCWV. I had to use a denim look paper because I don't have any real denim. The bling is added in the form of some blue rhinestones, an orange rhinstone brad and a clear Atyou Spica pen that unfortunatley doesn't show up in the picture... I also used my Flower Trio and Leaf Trio Die-namic and a Scallop Die-namic (currently sold out) both from MFT. Theres lots of paper piecing on her outfit, she's even wearing jeans now! I pulled out my paper crimper too...it hasn't seen the light of day in a very long time! I got to add some of the baker's twine that I recently picked up too.

I did it!
I made my Dad's Birthday card! I have to say it was pretty painless too...lol. I remembered that I had picked up Birthday Cake Overdose Miles from Kraftin' Kimmie at Scrapfest last month. I don't have a lot of masculine stamps, but this totally works. I also got to use some of the Spotted Owl PP from Jillibean Soup that I picked up there too. I decided to use this weeks SSSC115 for this card.
I used my Dainty Dots border die-namic from MFT and punched out some of the numbers (63) from the PP and used them in place of the embellishment. I made the icing on the cake a little glossy with my clear glaze pen, but it doesn't show up in the picture :(
Enjoy!

Mother's Day quickly approaches...
...and I'm pushing it, considering I have to get one of these in the mail.
I was doing some cleaning recently and found these little stickers that have been hanging around for years, so I decided to put them to use. One of these is for my Mom (Mom if you're reading this, look away) and the other is a request for a friend. I got to use some of my Stella and Rose Hazel PP, and some little "pearls" from Dollarama. The ribbon is very old from my Stampin'Up! Demo days. I love how quickly these cards came together. Now I have to start thinking about what I'm going to do for a card for my Dad's birthday...men's cards are so hard to do...
Have a great weekend and I hope the weather was as good for you today as it was here!

Bellarific Challenge!
I have to say, I'm loving these sentiments that I'm seeing around lately, they make for a pretty quick card too. This one is "A Girl Should be Two" from of course Stamping Bella. The challenge this week was to follow a sketch. I stamped the sentiment in brown rather than black this time to keep it light. I used my new Emma's Shoppe pp from Crate Paper and made a cute little flower using some different sizes of round Spellbinders dies. I finished the flower with some hemp twine and a button from my stash. I outlined the sentiment with an Atyou Spica pen in green and added a couple of pink pearls to finish.
Have a great weekend if I don't get back here before then. I'm off to a Yoga show at the Convention Centre here in T.O tomorrow to get my Zen on...lol

Ainsley from Scotland
Hi! So, I have this thing about Scotland. I don't know if its because it is part of my heritage, or just the fact that I swoon when I hear a man with a scottish brogue...love it! I went to Scrapfest in Kitchener this past Saturday and had a great time(more on that later in the week), and I was happy to discover a stamp company that I had never seen before called "Your Next Stamp". Amazingly cute images, but I held back and purchased just one...I had already done enough damage to the bank account to buy any more than that. So, this is Ainsley from Scotland! Isn't she the cutest? She comes with the little thistle too! I followed this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 112 for my layout and used some of my new pp picked up at Scrapfest. This is Emma's Shoppe from Crate Paper. I paper pieced her vest and hair band and coloured the rest with my prisma colour pencils.
I hope you like it and expect to see more stamps from YNS in the future!
Scrapfested Out!
Wow! So I went to Scrapfest in Kitchener this past weekend with my friend and had an awesome time! It was my first time going and it was amazing seeing all the things I've been longing for and more. I also realized some road trips will be in my future to go to see some of the stores that had booths there. I live downtown Toronto and find it hard to find good stores to buy my stamping goodies from. Anyway, I'd say the most damage was done at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps booth. I picked up 3 of the new April releases! Not even available online yet! I'm showing one today. It's called Krafty Quotes #3...I was also finally able to get my hands on all the Stella and Rose papers from MME. These are from the Gertie pack. I used some of my new bakers twine as well along with a flower and button from my stash.
Thanks for visiting today and come back soon!

Stripey Kimmie Challenge
I'm excited! Tomorrow I'm heading to Kitchener to Scrapfest! Woo hoo! I'm really looking forward to being (hopefully) able to buy some stuff that I keep seeing online, but can never find in stores...I'll try to remember to get some pictures when I'm there. Ok, on to the card...
This is Francesca. She is from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. This weeks challenge was to use stripes on your card. All my PP's are from the Citrus Stack from DCWV. This card was hard work! There's lots of paper piecing that you probably can't even see in the photo, plus, because the stripey paper has a raised, shiney surface, the ink took foreverrrrr to dry. I added some additional sparkle with some Atyou Spica pens in various places and the flowers/jewelled brad are from my stash. Another thing I should mention is that I've also done another challenge with card. It's the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 111. I really want to do more of these, but time just gets away from me...I don't know how anyone with kids keeps up with all the challenges!
Anyway, I'm off for now, hope you enjoy your weekend!

Monochromatic Bella Challenge
Hello again! Wow, I've been posting alot for me...lol. This weeks challenge at Stamping Bella is to make a card using a monochromatic theme. I also challenged myself to use things I hadn't used before. The first things were the stamps. This is Martha Lulu and "Make a Wish"both from Stamping Bella of course. Next in line are the PP's, one being from BoBunny and one Basic Grey. The other is another one of those "older than time" papers...lol. It's hard to see in this picture but this card has lots of sparkle in the details of the image. I used 3 different Atyou Spica pens for this. The little brads also have sparkle on them. I used the Flower Trio and Oval Chain Border from MFT on this one too. I'm slowly collecting the MFT Die-namics...wish I could have them all now! Anyway, enjoy and I hope to get some comments from you lurkers soon! LOL

What's Cooking? now...
I need to get some more stamps from MFT. Whenever there's a challenge, I have exactly 2 to choose from...lol. I do love these a la modes though. This one is What's Cooking and I made this card for this weeks challenge. I also used Clearly Sentimental about Food also from MFT. I split the phrase and just used "Martha," on the front. The inside says "eat your heart out". I used some of the very cute Nanna's Kitchen pp from DCWV that has been in my stash for a while now, but works so well with this image. Everything else (flowers, brad, ribbon) is also older stuff that I've been hanging on to. Its really silly, but I buy this stuff and then hoard it. I don't want to use it thinking that I will NEED it someday for something very important...weird, I know. Have a great day and visit again soon!

Swingin' Mavis
OMG, this little kitty is cute! This card was done for this weeks challenge over at Stamping Bella, the theme, Polka Dots.
So, of course, as the title suggests...This is Swingin' Mavis. I used some of my Modern Homemaker paper from October afternoon and mounted everything on black cs. I used a few different Spellbinders and Flower Trio from MFT. The little black flower shaped brads were something I had in my stash.
Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Vintage Sexy
I love these Moonlight Whispers images from Kraftin' Kimmie. This one is Betty. She's a very sexy pin-up girl! Everything I've used (except the crochet lace) is from my stash. I think the PP are from Making Memories a few years ago. I stamped the image in brown and just lightly watercoloured areas of it to give it a vintage feel. I'm pretty happy with the outcome, and was excited to try a new technique. I also did a little bit of sewing on this one to a add to the vintage feel and give it some texture and dimension. Thanks for stopping by!

Woof!
Hi! So, I've been in a card making mood lately and needed a thank you card for someone. I decided to use Woofin' it up from Stamping Bella because she is a dog lover. One of the things I love about this card is that I used PP that is ancient! I mean, I've had this stuff since the beginning of time! I'm trying very hard to do that though, cause new stuff isn't in my budget these days...
Hope you enjoy!

Another birthday rolls around...
And I haven't done that many posts since the last one...What can I say, I go through fazes with the stamping and the blogging. It's my sister's birthday again, and this time around I've used an MFT stamp called a la modes- What's Cooking?.
I really like these images and they were a perfect choice for her as she recently started her own cake making business.
I coloured her with prisma colour pencils and used the Modern Homemaker paper from October Afternoon. The button and twine are from my stash.
Have a great day!

If Friends were Flowers...
Hello again, thanks for dropping by. Today I've done some multi-tasking. I've created this card fulfilling two challenges. I love that! First I'll say, this is an image from Stamping Bella, called Ruby and Rose Lulu that I've never inked up before. That was the first challenge, use something you've never used. Secondly, this is the sketch used for Sweet Sunday Sketches Challenge #105.
Another thing that I like about this card is the fact that I used purple, I rarely use it. And the best thing? I used this PP that I've had for, wait for it, 11 years!! I feel so great about using it finally. It's too tempting to be running out and buying the latest and greatest papers. Believe me, all the papers I see on the blogs I regularily read are hard to resist buying. Even the ribbon is from my days as a Stampin'Up! demo, a long time ago!
Have a great Sunday and I hope the weather is co-operating. I'm off to see if I can get some new Joe Fresh workout wear.

Happy Valentine's Day (a few days early)
Hi! So, I wanted to make my sweet nephews a valentine, but I wanted to stay away from "girly" stuff, because I'm sure they would have something to say about me sending them a pink card. They are both hockey guys now. I came up with a completely non-traditional card for them and it came together in a snap! This is Cuppie, he's from "Love is Sweet" at Taylored Expressions. He's mostly paper pieced with some PP from my stash, I think it's from Chatterbox. I got to use my newest Nestie, the Lacey Circle too. I managed to add a little bling in the form of a rhinestone on Cuppie's cherry and a couple more in the corner for good measure. I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day whether or not you have a sweetheart!

That's hot Wasabi!
Hehe, oh yeah, she's hot alright. This is the very cute Wasabi Ketto from Stamping Bella. It's actually the first time I've inked her up. I love these images though. I have a few more Ketto's that I'm working on too. This card was inspired by the PP that I've had in my stash for a while now. It has a real Asian feel to it, so I thought it was the perfect match. I really liked the colour combo too. I used some CS from Stampin'Up!; Chocolate Chip, US vanilla and confetti ( I think thats what it's called). I of course, used my Prismacolour pencils and I added some glitz with a black glaze pen in her hair and a black Atyou Spica pen on her dress (my photographic skills sadly don't really show this...). The flower trio (currently sold out) and Dainty Dots Border are die-namics from MFT. The brown glittery brad is from my stash.
It's snowing again today, but I've got some running around to do, so, time to get bundled up and go!
Have a great day!

Shovelling Miles is hard at work!
In honour of the weather that we've been having, I decided to ink up my new "Shovelling Miles" stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie. I love the expression on his face! My sentiment is also from KK, it's "Kimmie's Sassy Sentiments". I used some "Bashful Blue" CS along with US White from SU. The PP is scraps from my stash. I used a rectangle and oval from Nestabilities and the "Threading Water" punch from Fiskars. Also, my new Die-namic "Let it Snowflake" from MFT. I used my Prismacolour Pencils and OMS for the image and added some sparkle with some clear glitter. I found a brad in my stash that worked perfectly for the blue and some ribbon from a gift (thereby making it qualify for this week's challenge on KK!).
Let's hope the snow is done for a while...Enjoy!

Paper Dolls!
I admit it, I broke down and bought these amazing paper doll die cuts from Quickkutz. I just had to have them. And I'm so glad I got them! I'm going to have so much fun. This card is all made of paper scraps. I put some little red pearls on for her earrings and on her belt and used a few buttons that were in my stash...easy peasy...

Vavavoom Samantha!
Well, it's been a shamefully long time since I've posted anything...It's not that I haven't been stamping, although, truth be told, I go through fazes (with all crafts). But, I have been taking part in some more challenges lately, and I just got an order in from Kraftin' Kimmie. This is Samantha...isn't she tha bomb! The sentiment comes with her too! I did this card for my best friends birthday this week. The challenge this week at Kraftin' Kimmie was to use flowers. I used my new Die-namics Flower Trio and Leaf. All my CS is from Stampin' Up! and my PP is an old deck from Making Memories called Sabrina. My little pearls are from Dollarama. I coloured her in using my Prismascolour Pencil and blending medium. I added some sparkle with my clear Atyou Spica pen. Hope you enjoy!
