Mother's Day quickly approaches...

...and I'm pushing it, considering I have to get one of these in the mail.
I was doing some cleaning recently and found these little stickers that have been hanging around for years, so I decided to put them to use. One of these is for my Mom (Mom if you're reading this, look away) and the other is a request for a friend. I got to use some of my Stella and Rose Hazel PP, and some little "pearls" from Dollarama. The ribbon is very old from my Stampin'Up! Demo days. I love how quickly these cards came together. Now I have to start thinking about what I'm going to do for a card for my Dad's birthday...men's cards are so hard to do...

Have a great weekend and I hope the weather was as good for you today as it was here!

Bellarific Challenge!

I have to say, I'm loving these sentiments that I'm seeing around lately, they make for a pretty quick card too. This one is "A Girl Should be Two" from of course Stamping Bella. The challenge this week was to follow a sketch. I stamped the sentiment in brown rather than black this time to keep it light. I used my new Emma's Shoppe pp from Crate Paper and made a cute little flower using some different sizes of round Spellbinders dies. I finished the flower with some hemp twine and a button from my stash. I outlined the sentiment with an Atyou Spica pen in green and added a couple of pink pearls to finish.

Have a great weekend if I don't get back here before then. I'm off to a Yoga show at the Convention Centre here in T.O tomorrow to get my Zen on...lol

Ainsley from Scotland

Hi! So, I have this thing about Scotland. I don't know if its because it is part of my heritage, or just the fact that I swoon when I hear a man with a scottish brogue...love it! I went to Scrapfest in Kitchener this past Saturday and had a great time(more on that later in the week), and I was happy to discover a stamp company that I had never seen before called "Your Next Stamp". Amazingly cute images, but I held back and purchased just one...I had already done enough damage to the bank account to buy any more than that. So, this is Ainsley from Scotland! Isn't she the cutest? She comes with the little thistle too! I followed this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 112 for my layout and used some of my new pp picked up at Scrapfest. This is Emma's Shoppe from Crate Paper. I paper pieced her vest and hair band and coloured the rest with my prisma colour pencils.

I hope you like it and expect to see more stamps from YNS in the future!

Scrapfested Out!

Wow! So I went to Scrapfest in Kitchener this past weekend with my friend and had an awesome time! It was my first time going and it was amazing seeing all the things I've been longing for and more. I also realized some road trips will be in my future to go to see some of the stores that had booths there. I live downtown Toronto and find it hard to find good stores to buy my stamping goodies from. Anyway, I'd say the most damage was done at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps booth. I picked up 3 of the new April releases! Not even available online yet! I'm showing one today. It's called Krafty Quotes #3...I was also finally able to get my hands on all the Stella and Rose papers from MME. These are from the Gertie pack. I used some of my new bakers twine as well along with a flower and button from my stash.

Thanks for visiting today and come back soon!

Stripey Kimmie Challenge

I'm excited! Tomorrow I'm heading to Kitchener to Scrapfest! Woo hoo! I'm really looking forward to being (hopefully) able to buy some stuff that I keep seeing online, but can never find in stores...I'll try to remember to get some pictures when I'm there. Ok, on to the card...

This is Francesca. She is from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. This weeks challenge was to use stripes on your card. All my PP's are from the Citrus Stack from DCWV. This card was hard work! There's lots of paper piecing that you probably can't even see in the photo, plus, because the stripey paper has a raised, shiney surface, the ink took foreverrrrr to dry. I added some additional sparkle with some Atyou Spica pens in various places and the flowers/jewelled brad are from my stash. Another thing I should mention is that I've also done another challenge with card. It's the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 111. I really want to do more of these, but time just gets away from me...I don't know how anyone with kids keeps up with all the challenges!

Anyway, I'm off for now, hope you enjoy your weekend!

Monochromatic Bella Challenge

Hello again! Wow, I've been posting alot for me...lol. This weeks challenge at Stamping Bella is to make a card using a monochromatic theme. I also challenged myself to use things I hadn't used before. The first things were the stamps. This is Martha Lulu and "Make a Wish"both from Stamping Bella of course. Next in line are the PP's, one being from BoBunny and one Basic Grey. The other is another one of those "older than time" papers...lol. It's hard to see in this picture but this card has lots of sparkle in the details of the image. I used 3 different Atyou Spica pens for this. The little brads also have sparkle on them. I used the Flower Trio and Oval Chain Border from MFT on this one too. I'm slowly collecting the MFT Die-namics...wish I could have them all now! Anyway, enjoy and I hope to get some comments from you lurkers soon! LOL

What's Cooking? now...

I need to get some more stamps from MFT. Whenever there's a challenge, I have exactly 2 to choose from...lol. I do love these a la modes though. This one is What's Cooking and I made this card for this weeks challenge. I also used Clearly Sentimental about Food also from MFT. I split the phrase and just used "Martha," on the front. The inside says "eat your heart out". I used some of the very cute Nanna's Kitchen pp from DCWV that has been in my stash for a while now, but works so well with this image. Everything else (flowers, brad, ribbon) is also older stuff that I've been hanging on to. Its really silly, but I buy this stuff and then hoard it. I don't want to use it thinking that I will NEED it someday for something very important...weird, I know. Have a great day and visit again soon!
